#23 Summary

Many times I got lost and had to spend hours to find
my way out ..., but now I'm dashing through the finishling
line! It has been a bit hard but great learning experience.

What did I leant from this program?
After creating 23 blog posts , I am able to handle blog quite well .
I learnt about some sites I can use at work and at home.
What I like most are Flickr, Online Image Generators,
LibraryThings, YouTube, Web based apps.

One of the commom advantages of these sites is to make
information/image management an easy, natural ,& collborotive
process, eg. using tags. Another advantages is to provide latest
information much faster than any other ways, eg, Bloglines, Wikipedia.

The prospects of libraries are very impressive. I am not
sure when the post -print era comes, but one thing is sure - library
services /contents will evantually be placed in users prefer
environment, into their daily patten of work, study and play with web.

I hope I will share my findings with others. I will keep learning
new "things" of web to benefit myself today and in the coming
post-pc era.

Thanks to those who gave my helping hands when I was frustrated.

#22 Audiobooks

I looked around on World EBook Fair/Gutenberg.
Good collection, but should be expanded.
The advantage of eAudiobook is that it is downloadable.
For those who have Mp3, it is a great way to listen to their
favorate books while walking/working away on something else.
But no good points to sit on the computer to listen to a story.
Perhaps it can be used for language learning (listening)
or other tranings in a class if sound quality can be improved.

#21 Podcasts

Podcasts, which provide both visual and audio information, might
be helpful for education/training. First, they are free. Secondly you
can learn when and where is most convenient for you without attending
a class lesson. We might recommend the podcasts for language learners
to the library users who want to improve their listening skill,
eg. overseas students/new migrants.
I have found some for English learners at Yahoo Podcasts. Here is one
of them:

# 20 YouTube

YouTube is a popular free vieo sharing website which lets
users upload, view, and share video clips. According to
a July 2006 survy, 100 million clips are viewed daily on it,
with an additional 6,5000 new videos uploaded per 24hours.
The site has almost 20 million visitors each month.
Amazing! It is great to view many special, interesting ,
funny video clips which can't be viewed on TV /movie.

Here is a video clip which gave us a demonstration of
a magic bracelet:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pf3z935R37E

# 19 Discovering Web 2.0 Tools

There are so many sites you can visit, but how can you find a site
that interests you in a short time? Web2.0 Awards is obsolutely a
helpful guide.

I had a quick look at a few sites. Lastfl .com is great for music
lovers. One of its features I like is "Discover New Artists ".
When you type in the artist/band you like, some similar bands
will be recommanded. It might be useful for library reference.
Visualcomplexity.com shows us lots of beautiful visual art works.
We can copy/paste some for sharing with friends.

# !8 Web-based Apps

After exploring Zoho Writer and trying some features, I have
understood how big the impact web-based apps have given to
MS Office and other software based productivity tools.
If internet service is reliable, the advantages of it are obvious:
-No cost for software
-No need to worry about soware versions or file type as
emailing or move from pc to pc
-Easy collaboration by allowing multiple users to edit the same file
-Availability of writing/publish posts to your blog
...
Is it possible to have the feature of Email Out ?

# 17 BPWiki

Another option for communicating /discussing ideas with
those who have common interests with you. But I prefer to
pick up the phone when discussing something with my friends
/families. Now you can get a $10 phone card for
1,000 minute talks! Unbelievable ? But it is true.

I have registered for bpwiki, but nothing in it yet.
Good fun playing in Learning 2.0 Sandbox. My blog
is in the Favorate Blog list.

#16 Wikis

As a wikis is "something fast", it is certainly an effective way to get
new ideas /knowdlege ..... . But" wikis are not for everyone. If control
is really important to you, then a wiki probably is not the right tool." .

Recently I have searched for some terms of new technology on wikipedia
and I am happy with the results I have got. Great tool.
